Used in weighing the precious metals.

The troy is about 10% heavier than the Commonly used avoirdupois ounce. Avoirdupois ounces x 0.9115 = troy ounces.
Avoirdupois Weight
Used in weighing the base metals.

16 ounces	1 pound
16 ounces	700 grains
the avoirdupois pound is about 21 ½% heavier than the troy pound. Troy ounces x 1.0971 = avoirdupois ounces.
Gram Weight

1.555 grams	= 1 pennyweight dwt.
31.104 grams	= 1 ounce troy
28.35 grams	= 1 ounce avoirdupois
Carat Weight
Used in weighting precious stones and semi-precious gemstones.
1 carat	= 3.086 grains troy
1 carat	= 0.007 ounce avoirdupois
1 carat	= 0.20 grams
1 carat	= 5 carats
The carat is further divided into points for simple measurement.

½ carat	= 50 points

Fluid Measurement
1 ounce (fluid) = 29.57 cubic centimetres - 1.8 cubic inches.
1 dram = ½ ounces (fluid) = 1.85 cubic centimetres.
1 quart = 32 ounces (fluid) = 2 pints = ¼ gallon = 57 cubic inches.
1 gallon = 4 quarts = 128 ounces (fluid) = 3.78 litres.
1 litre = 1000cc (slightly more than 1 quart U.S. ) = 0.264 U.S. gallons.
1 imperial gallon = 1.2 U.S. gallons = 4.59 liters = 277.27 cubic inches.
Temperature
To convert : Fahrenheit to Centigrade (Celsius) = Subtract 32 from degrees Fahrenheit, multiply remainder by 5, divide the product by 9.
Centigrade to Fahrenheit = Multiply degrees Centigrade by 9, divide product by 5, and add 32.
